A romantic summer wedding at Rocky Crest Resort in Muskoka featuring Brittany & Mike. Editorial + documentary wedding photography in Ontario.

There’s something about Muskoka in the summer that just hits differently.
The light feels softer. The air feels slower. And everything about the day feels a little more intentional.
Brittany and Mike’s wedding at Rocky Crest Resort was exactly that — effortless, emotional, and full of the kind of moments you don’t plan… but never forget.
From the quiet anticipation in the morning to the energy that carried through the night, their day felt like a perfect reflection of who they are together — grounded, joyful, and completely present.
The morning started slow and intentional, which is always my favourite way to begin a wedding day.
Brittany got ready surrounded by her closest people, with hair by MauMau Artistry and makeup by Muskoka Aesthetics — a look that felt timeless, elevated, and completely her.
Her dress from Avenue 22 Bridal was the perfect balance of modern and romantic. One of those gowns that doesn’t need anything extra — it just is.
These quieter moments are always where the story really begins. The laughter, the nerves, the in-between glances — it all builds into something bigger.
A Waterfront Ceremony at Rocky Crest Resort
Set against the natural beauty of Muskoka, Brittany and Mike’s ceremony felt both intimate and expansive at the same time.
With the lake just beyond them and their people surrounding them, they stepped into this next chapter in a way that felt grounded and real.
One of my favourite perspectives during ceremonies is photographing from behind the couple — seeing their guests’ reactions as everything unfolds.
It’s a reminder that a wedding isn’t just about the two of you… it’s about everyone who got you there.
Throughout the day, we blended candid, documentary moments with intentional editorial portraits — something I always guide my couples through.
Because the truth is… the magic isn’t choosing between the two.
It’s knowing when to lean into movement, and when to pause.
Brittany and Mike were actually one of my shyest couples going into their wedding day — the kind of couple that isn’t overly comfortable in front of the camera at first.
And honestly… you would never know it.
Their photos feel completely effortless. Natural, connected, and fully them.
That’s the beauty of trust and giving yourself space to just be present. When you’re not focused on “performing” for the camera, everything softens — and that’s when the real moments come through.
Brittany and Mike trusted the process completely, which gave us space to create images that feel both natural and elevated — the kind of photos that don’t just show how the day looked, but how it felt.
The reception design by Flower Child Muskoka brought everything together in the most effortless way.
Soft, romantic florals paired with the natural Muskoka backdrop created a space that felt warm, inviting, and full of life.
As the evening unfolded, the energy shifted — speeches filled with emotion, laughter that carried across the room, and those late-night moments that always end up meaning the most.
The kind you don’t pose.
The kind you just live.
